Greetings from Canada eh!

Postby waynem » Wed May 30, 2012 8:03 pm

Hi Everyone. I am new here (duh) I actually set up my account ages ago but this is the first chance that I have had to get onto the site since.

I live In Western Canada. Edmonton, Alberta to be specific. I have worked for an Electrical Surplus dealer/Distributor for more than 30 years. Over that time I have seen a great deal of old electrical materials pass through our doors. Although this area is relatively young in the world of industry, we still see much very old equipment and lately I have taken to collect some interesting pieces for my own display. Especially metering

I am hoping that I can contribute to the over all value of the site and perhaps find some answers to questions as well. There is a lot of old British equipment here in Canada and not a very great knowledge base. I am hoping at some point to be able to post images of some of the more interesting items as time goes on.

Welcome to EK, waynem. :)

It's a lovely part of the world you come from. Have had a few great holidays there, summer and winter. I met my wife in Banff, as it happens.

Some images of your collection of artifacts would be very interesting.

And hello from me too. I look forward to hearing about some of your finds - it must be interesting to have old electrical equipment arriving in your loading bay as part of the day job!
Regards
Lucien
