Hi Rupert
P1180064.jpg The gearmotor could have been for anything from a test-tube shaker to an illuminated sign speller. It has been repurposed for another unknown function. I don't recognise the maker of the motor.
Meter.jpg Looks like a home-made signal generator for testing and aligning radios. It's difficult to read the scale markings but they seem to include the AM broadcast band. A unit like this, if well constructed, could have proved a perfectly good alternative to a commercially made one.
HM Voltmeter.jpg Probably a home-made valve tester. It has approximately the right assortment of controls although a rather large number of wander sockets and pillar terminals - perhaps the panel was adapted from something else. Unusual to have only equipped it with B5 & B7 valveholders, no Octal etc so I am beginning to wonder. Nonetheless it is an interesting-looking device.
P1180055.jpg Is this heavy? If so it could be an isolating or step-down transformer.
Universal AVOmeter.jpg This is a Model 7, Mk1.
The panel meters are all popular types, I might know of a use for the 1mA and 25mA Ferranti meters as they have the right style cases to replace a couple of missing / damaged ones on some pre-war amplifiers.
I would say that the Avo 7 and possibly the scope are saleable, the remainder and other items like them would be of interest to radio people if offered FOC. You might do well to post about them on the Vintage Radio Forum - it's a huge, busy forum with lots of enthusiasts.
http://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/The valve tester (?) continues to intrigue me with its two-of-each type of socket though!

Black was always meant to be a phase. The neutral phase.
